Hello Everyone! I'm Lisa, a late twenty something female who has a passion for helping individuals find their path on the road to a healthier lifestyle. I'm one of the lucky ones who can actually say that I have a purpose in my job, and at the end of the day I feel good knowing that I really do make a difference in other people's lives.
I graduated from Miami University (Oxford, Oh) with a degree in Exercise Physiology. Not too long after graduation, went ahead and got my certification for my RNC- registered nutritional consultant which I partook in for a few years.
Now here I am in Nashville, TN working for a great wellness company. Although I've always been health oriented, this is the first time that I've been surrounded by a large community of health conscious individuals who focus on total well-being. After some time here I finally found myself doing what I once loved to do- running. Although I love to participate in all sports, running, to me, is the greatest challenge because everything depends on YOU. There are no teammates to assist you in plays, there are no 'pick up matches or games' that meet up on a weekly basis, its all what you're willing to put in and of course what your body allows.
Since high school graduation, I guess you could say that I dropped the title 'runner' from my introduction and now I'm slowly trying to regain that talent I used to love about myself. 5ks no longer interest me as its always a disappointment to see my time knowing what I once was capable of. I had to find another race that I could compete in, but still continually improve upon and keep my interest. Hello Half marathons! I'm not sure if i'll ever be able to perfect the race, but I figure its worth the try to run in a race that only about 1% of the population is willing to try. This is my diary of learning through my mistakes with each race I do, until I can once again call myself a runner!
