March's focus has been carrying on from February to work on getting stronger- less focus on how many runs I do, but more of quality. I guess it worked since I ran my fastest time ever... now lets make it stick!
Total Mileage: 86. Originally I wanted to run 100 miles, but this month I focused on doing longer runs but not running as often
April: no goal for mileage
Highest Mileage Week: 25. Pathetic I know, but again, once the month started, I realized that I wasn't really focused on miles this month

April: Repeat of February's intention, 40 miles
Half Marathons planned/completed: 1/1. 13.1 NY. Brand New PR and learned a lot about what I'm truly capable of when I set my mind to it.

April: 1 half mary planned. Platte River 1/2 in Colorado with B, L, and Kim R---- Austin Texas gals weekend repeat (+ Kim's husband S). I'm still debating on if I want to run the RnR Country Music 1/2, or just cheer for everyone that IS running... will decide as the date approaches.
Long Runs Ran: My first and only 17 miler!! There will be plans to do another longer run like this one, but not sure when that will be.

Current Book (s): Stephanie Meyer's "The Host"- only about 100 pages in, but so far so good. Apparently its the book she wrote in between Eclipse and Breaking Dawn--- turning it into a movie next year :)
Current Obsessions: Getting to go home for Easter this weekend and see the family, haven't been back since Christmas. Also figuring out where I'll be moving in May / June (not leaving nashville, my apt lease is up so will be relocating somewhere else)
Current Drink: Since spring doesn't really exist in Nashville (consistently in the high 80s now) I'm constantly thirsty. Water is my go to, but lately I've been seriously craving coca cola..... trying hard not to give in.
Current Song (s): Calvin Harris- "Feel so close to you"

Current Goal: finally broke into the 1:40s, so now its to make sure it wasn't just a fluke and that it happens again
Current Treat: Coca Cola.
Current Excitement: Laid out by the pool yesterday- bathing suit already looks better than last year and its only April!!!
Current Dislike (s): Everything at work KEEPS changing--- I feel like there is a huge lack of commuincation and everyone is on completely different pagess that its finally starting to get to me.
I have a big weakness for Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke. I give in if I've had a great run or race but that's about it! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're running is looking crazy good! Bet you'll have your best year yet! Especially in the new kicks. :)
Thanks for the tip on the book. I'm switching to audio book. As soon as I start turning pages I nod off.
Great month!!! While you weren't focused on mileage you certainly smashed your speed!!! You are in line for a PR year! I know how it feels though wanting to repeat so you know it wasn't a fluke. I did that when I broke 2 hours...the next raced I pred by 5 minutes!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of you being able to lay by the pool! Right now I am in a sweater and scarf in my office!!! In New England we don't get much Spring either. It's winter...and rainy winter...then summer! I'm so far from running in a sports bra...with this mommy stomach I may need surgical intervention!!!
I know I've said it before butyour 1:40s totally keep me inspired for a sub 2:00!! Love the Host. Enjoy your trip home!
ReplyDeleteDO people really run in just sports bras?:) Love that you were able to lay by the pool. I have to just dream of that here in Seattle. Have fun back home for Easter:)

ReplyDeletewhat a great month! I read The Host awhile ago and liked it a lot. Have fun in CO! I am from there and would love to move back so may be a bit biased but I think it is a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on such a speedy month! Although I am nowhere near 1:40 in a half marathon (running only my second one this weekend!), I can aspire to be like that someday!
ReplyDeleteSuper jealous about laying by the pool...I live on the ocean in New England and I just want it to be warm enough to lay out in the sun!
What a great month for you!! Hope April will be even better :)
ReplyDeleteReally like that song! Always looking for good tunes to run to!
